Building professionals are invited to an evening seminar in Bristol on Wednesday 18th of October ’23, exploring Whole Lifecycle Carbon Measurement Practice and how these standards are impacting sustainability and reducing carbon in construction.
Northen Surveying Services Director Alan Northen hosts the event, which includes a Q&A panel session, and is joined by guest speaker Trevor Drury at The Bristol Golf Club on Wednesday, October 18 from 6pm.
This is an opportunity to network with industry experts and gain valuable insights into reducing carbon in construction and understanding whole lifecycle measurement standards.
Those attending can see how these standards are transforming the industry and what that means for professionals. There will be a focus on legal implications alongside looking at practical aspects of carbon measurement and how this links to RICS practice statement on whole lifecycle carbon.
Alan Northen FRICS, MCIArb, is lead author of RICS New Rules of Measurement Volume 2 (NRM2) 2nd Edition 2021and also a Member of RICS whole lifecycle carbon assessment practice standard working group. For the past 14 years, Alan has successfully run Northen Surveying Services.
Trevor Drury is a barrister, chartered construction manager, chartered quantity surveyor, accredited mediator, and panel adjudicator. He has been in the construction industry for 40 years, having worked for contractors, consultancies, and barristers’ chambers. Trevor specialises in construction law and practices at 12 Old Square Chambers in London and is Managing Director of Construction Consultants, Morecraft Drury.
Trevor will cover a section on legal duties and expectations, current and new case law and findings from adjudications arising primarily from measurement issues.
A third speaker (TBC) will join for the Q&A panel at the end.
