Luca Coogan has made great strides since joining Northen Surveying Services as an apprentice quantity surveyor in summer 2022.
He follows in the footsteps of others joining the business, which has successfully run a specialised apprenticeship scheme for 9 years now.
Prior to joining, Luca was studying A-Levels and said: “An apprenticeship was very appealing as I could work and gain a degree.”
Luca, whose ambition was to work in construction and engineering, has already got stuck into several projects across multiple sites and increased his knowledge and experience.
He added: “The varied projects that I have worked on have been interesting. I have also been supported to complete my university course and have been covering a range of modules.”
Among his major achievements this past year, he lists learning about bills of quantity, making valuations, attending site visits and working with different clients.
Luca said: “I have learned a number of skills and would very much recommend an apprenticeship.”
